Sunday Mish-Mosh

Good morning and happy Sunday my lovelies!

I actually love Sundays, especially this one because, thanks to having MLK day off tomorrow, it’s really like ‘Saturday’ all over again.

Also, Sundays always makes me think of the U2 song ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ (which by the way, the anniversary is coming up)

And yes, on Friday’s I commonly think of ‘Friday I’m In Love’

Anyway,  I wanted to recap on my workouts for the week. Typically this happens on Fit Fridays but I had an afternoon appointment for allergy retesting and I thought I could workout after but, well I was wrong, and then my whole day was shot.

Sunday: OFF

Monday: 2.5 mile run

Tuesday: Nike+ Kinect fit test and random bonus drills

Wednesday: 4 mile run

Thursday: two round of Nike+ strength training (45 minutes total)

Friday: OFF, as my back looked like this…

allergyYes, every black marker dot you see is where they stabbed me with a needle.

Saturday: 5 mile run! Building up the miles again.

In case you were wondering, I’m still allergic to pretty much everything in the environment (no food allergies). A few years ago I was tested to get allergy shots in order to manage my symptoms. I decided to do the re-testing because it’s been about a year and a half since moving to Florida, a totally new climate for my poor allergies. Turns out ragweed is one of my top offenders, and as opposed to being in season only in the Fall in Michigan, it is year-round here in Florida. Wonderful!

What’s your favorite ‘day-of-the-week’ song?

Do you suffer from allergies of any kind?

  1. Wow—kudos to you for dealing with all those needles. I found out a few years ago I’m allergic to certain pollens, which comes with lovely cross-reactive responses to certain foods—walnuts and almonds are way at the top of my “I can’t breathe” foods. Not fun. Luckily, I’ve found lots of alternatives.

I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I have a soft spot for “I don’t like Mondays” by the Boomtown Rats. I also will always love No Doubt’s “Sunday Morning,” even though I haven’t been 16 for a really long time…

    • Ha! I saw the No Doubt song on youtube when I went to get the link for the U2 song, no shame I still like it too! And I get that cross-reactive crap with honeydew and cantalope, fortunately not enough to make me stop eating it but my throat itches all day if I eat it

  2. My favorite Day of the Week Song is “Manic Monday.” Love that! Lately, I’ve been trying to workout as much as I can so when I don’t have time (this week I know I won’t have time a couple days after work), I just take those as my off days.

P.s. OMG acupuncture?! Do you like it? Have you noticed any benefits? I’m intrigued.

    • it’s actually not acupuncture hah, I wish it were… they poke you all over with specific allergens and see which ones you react to the most.. it’s not fun at all!!

  3. Awwww your allergies do not sound fun! Sending positive vibes your way. Also, my hubby’s absolute, most favorite song in the world is friday I’m in love <3 haha! He has to listen to it every friday!

  4. Oh my goodness, you poor thing!! I hope your back is doing better today! I’m lucky and am not severely allergic to anything. The only thing I am allergic to wool. I break out in hives if I wear anything with it!

    • Hah thank you! Kitty-cats make me break out into hives, but I still love them theyre so fuzzy and cute I can’t help myself. Benadryl is a good friend of mine

  5. Ahh that looks terrible! I hope you’re feeling better! I’m allergic to wheat but that’s pretty much it.. I usually say long haired cats to because the rest of my family is but they don’t actually seem to bother me that much. I am a big U2 fan – love that song.. and I definitely always think of Friday I’m in Love on Fridays :)

    • Im so lucky that I’m not allergic to any foods! Just like, everything else… and it’s totally hereditary I get it from my parents hah thank god for allergy meds is all I can say.

    • Hi thanks for stopping by! And no I havent used that yet but someone had recently suggested it, so I’m excited to try it out! Any suggestions on how to make the most of it?!

  6. You poor thing. I am so lucky to not suffer from any major allergies (with the exception of ragweed which is a million times better in the midwest than it is in the south when I lived there). Great mileage this week…I’m working on building up my miles, too! Enjoy today off..jealous!!!

  7. Ohh my goodness (I was going to say you poor thing, but it seems that was a popular phrase on this post haha) I can’t imagine being pricked that many times!! So whack you have these allergies.
